I look forward to “shuffling off this mortal coil”.

Let’s face it. Life is beautiful, and life is burdensome. I’ve never held all that tightly to my life. Maybe it’s because of how I entered? I don’t have a “death wish”, but I don’t cling all that tighly either.

This mortal coil – wound tight, a coil of barbed wire, this earthly existence. Deadly.
For everyone but one.

It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment.

I do want to live forever. But not like this. I want the new heavens and the new earth. I want the corruptible to be replaced with the incorruptible. Even so, come Lord Jesus.
