5 everyday things

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

…in no particular order…

Sunshine – but some clouds are okay too. And rain is good.

Wind – and the sound of the large wind chimes in the back yard. The peaceful melody they ring out is always warming and enjoyable.

Music – of course. Music brings me happiness, but also helps me be in touch with and express a whole myriad of other emotions as well! I’d be lost without music.

Physical contact. A hug, a fist bump, a high five, or just being close. It’s co-regulation. Hugely effective in boosting my mood!

Communication. Specifically, healthy person-to-person, feelings-level communication. It doesn’t even have to be all about “happy things”. I’d rather know the truth, and the hard stuff. That’s the good stuff! It makes me happy when people feel comfortable enough to be real with me – and when I can do the same with them!

I love your choices, David. I can identify with all of them. You are a man after my own heart, as we have such similar likes in response to this prompt. I love the sound of wind chimes, too. I have a very small one at the bottom of my stairs. Every time someone goes upstairs, the wind chime rings out. I daresay it gets on some people’s nerves!

I’m definitely on the same page as you regarding physical contact (provided it is safe). Hugs are important to me, and it boosts my mood, too.

Good communication is essential in my eyes. I feel the same about the exchange not having to be all happy things. I feel very honoured if someone trusts me enough to talk to me about their feelings and problems. I’ve always found it easy to be open and honest with you about my life, which I appreciate. I hope you have a lovely day, David.
